Blue Ribbon Arts Initiative and Vault Gallerie presents the first annual Spectrum Group Show.
The show features artwork created by artists on the autism spectrum. The purpose of show is to celebrate the artists as well as draw attention to the need for not just autism awareness, but inclusion and acceptance. The art will be sold with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Autism Speaks Chicago.
Inspired by the strength and artistic talent of her cousin Jasonon the spectrum, Delilah Martinez, owner of Vault Gallerie wanted to host a show to showcase his work along with others. She chose to partner with Colorado based non-profit, Blue Ribbon Arts Initiative, a group that helps connect young people with autism to the arts, to launch the inaugural show.
The opening artists reception will coincide with 2nd Friday Art Walk in Pilsen, April 13. The reception runs from 6pm-10pm. Refreshments and beverages will be provided, and most artists will be in attendance. A sensory friendly opening will be held Saturday morning from 10am-noon. The public is encouraged to attend.
