Paris was the first city that artist Nolis Anderson ever stepped foot on outside of North America. The city that reawakened his love for photography at a time when a creative rut prompted Nolis to make a change. In his case, making a change meant booking a flight. France was the first stop on his European escapades and in leaving familiar surroundings—his hometown of Chicago—Nolis found what he had lost and what every artist subsists upon: inspiration. “Dans Ces Rues” is a collection of moments that Nolis encountered while walking the streets of Paris, where mundane scenes invited him into an exciting, new world he was discovering through his lens. Meaning “In These Streets” in French, “Dans Ces Rues” shows the beauty of the ordinary, which to the artist, was not ordinary at all.
